Learning Management

Assign, deliver and evidence mandatory compliance training across your workforce

Overview

Moraph resells, implements and runs HealthStream's learning platform for hospitals and health systems, configured so each employee is assigned the compliance training their job requires, such as OSHA bloodborne pathogens, hazard communication and HIPAA privacy. Moraph keeps the assignments in step with your HR data, chases overdue training through your managers, and prepares the completion evidence that surveyors, auditors and your compliance committee ask for. Your education and compliance teams decide what is required; Moraph makes sure the platform carries it out.

The problem it solves

Most hospitals already have a learning system, but keeping it accurate is a job of its own. New hires, transfers and contractors are assigned the wrong courses or none, annual renewals slip, and managers learn about overdue training only when a surveyor asks. Education teams spend their time fixing assignment rules and running completion reports by hand instead of improving the content, and when the compliance officer needs proof that every exposed employee completed bloodborne pathogens training this year, the answer takes days to assemble.

Who it’s for

  • Clinical education and organizational development teams at hospitals and health systems
  • Compliance and privacy officers who answer for mandatory training
  • Employee health and safety officers responsible for OSHA programs
  • Department managers and nurse leaders who need their staff current
  • HR and IT teams that run the systems training assignments depend on

How the work flows

  1. AssignTraining is assigned automatically from your HR data, so each person receives the courses their job code, department, location and worker type require, including when they transfer or change role.
  2. DeliverStaff complete courses and attestations in HealthStream, signing in through your identity provider, with reminders as due dates approach and managers kept informed.
  3. Follow upOverdue training is escalated through the people who can act on it. Moraph watches overdue counts and exceptions and works them with your education team.
  4. EvidenceCompletion reports are prepared for surveys, audits and committees, showing who was required to complete each training, who did, and when.

What it does

Rule-based assignment
HealthStream assigns training by job code, department, location and worker type, using rules Moraph builds from your requirements and documents.
HR feed management
Moraph builds and watches the feed from your HR system, so hires, transfers and terminations reach the platform and mapping errors are caught.
Contractor and student coverage
Agency staff, students and contractors are loaded and assigned the training your policies require of them, alongside employees.
Annual renewal tracking
Recurring requirements such as bloodborne pathogens and HIPAA privacy training are reassigned on the cycle you set, with reminders before they fall due.
Manager views
Managers see their own staff's assigned, completed and overdue training, and receive notices when someone falls behind.
Attestations
Staff acknowledge that they have read and understood a policy or notice, and the acknowledgment is recorded with the version and date.
Instructor-led and skills sessions
Classroom sessions, skills checks and fit testing records are scheduled and recorded alongside online courses.
Content lifecycle
Moraph loads, versions and retires courses, so learners receive the current version and earlier completions stay on the record.
Exemption register
Exemptions and due-date extensions are recorded with who granted them and why, and appear in completion reports.
Survey-ready reports
Completion reports for a requirement, population and period, prepared by Moraph for surveys, audits and compliance committees.
Exception monitoring
Moraph watches for feed failures, people without assignments and sudden changes in overdue counts, and works them with your education team.
Monthly service review
Each month Moraph reports on completion trends, exceptions, changes made and what is planned, for your education and compliance leads.

Contractor and student sources
Agency, student and contractor records from the systems or lists your organization keeps for them.
Single sign-on
Staff sign in through your identity provider (SAML), so your password and multi-factor policies apply.
Policy management
Policy attestations can be assigned from new or revised policies, including Moraph's managed Policy Management service.
Credentialing
Completion of required training can be shared with credentialing and privileging processes, including Moraph's Credentialing & Privileging Portal.

Security

Single sign-on
Learners and administrators sign in through your identity provider, so your password and multi-factor policies apply.
Role-based access
Managers see their own staff, educators their own sessions and content, and administrators what their role requires.
Controlled Moraph access
Moraph staff use named accounts with the access your organization authorizes, and changes are made through approved change requests.
Audit trail
Changes to requirements, rules, content and exemptions are recorded with who made them and when.
Encryption and keys
Data Moraph holds for the service, such as HR feed files and evidence reports, is encrypted with keys staff cannot use without explicit, time-bound authorization.
Minimal personal data
The service uses workforce data, not patient information. Where your organization's use involves protected health information, a business associate agreement is put in place first.

Hosting and deployment

New HealthStream subscription
Moraph resells the subscription and content licences and runs the platform from implementation onward.
Your existing subscription
Where you already license HealthStream, Moraph takes over configuration and operation, subject to the vendor's terms.
Alongside other Moraph services
Can be run with Moraph's managed Policy Management service so new policy versions are assigned for attestation.

Implementation

Requirements workshop
We document each mandatory requirement with your education and compliance leads: who it applies to, how often, and what counts as completion.
HR feed and sign-on
We build the HR feed and single sign-on connection with your HR and IT teams and test them against real job codes and departments.
Assignment rules
Rules are built from the requirements, tested against your workforce data, and reviewed with your education administrator before they go live.
Content setup
Licensed and organization-specific courses are loaded, mapped to requirements and checked by their owners.
History migration
Where you are moving from another learning system, completion history is migrated by agreement so renewal dates carry over.
Go-live and handover
Managers, educators and administrators are shown their own views, and the monthly service review and change process begin.

What it doesn’t do

  • Moraph is not the vendor. HealthStream owns and operates the platform, and its own service commitments, roadmap and outages apply.
  • Licences and content are subject to HealthStream's terms, and the courses and features available depend on what you license.
  • Your organization decides which training is required, for whom and how often; Moraph configures the platform to match but does not set regulatory requirements.
  • Assignment accuracy depends on the HR and contractor data you provide. Moraph detects and reports mapping errors but does not own your HR data.
  • Moraph does not write or validate the clinical accuracy of organization-specific content; its owners remain responsible for it.
  • Training records show that training was completed; they do not by themselves demonstrate competence, which your educators assess.
  • First-line help for learners stays with your service desk or education team, with Moraph providing second-line support.
  • The service is not a credentialing system and does not verify licenses or certifications held by staff.

How to evaluate it

  • List your mandatory requirements and check how each would be expressed as an assignment rule
  • Run a sample of your HR data through the proposed rules and review who would be assigned what
  • Check how contractors, students and agency staff would be covered
  • Ask for a sample evidence report for one requirement and compare it with what your surveyors ask for
  • Review the responsibilities table with your education, HR and IT leads
  • Walk through how a change request is raised, tested, approved and applied

Questions

We already use HealthStream. Can Moraph take over running it?

Yes. Moraph reviews your current configuration, documents your requirements and takes over operation, subject to HealthStream's terms for your existing licence.

Who decides which training is mandatory?

Your organization does. Moraph turns the requirements your education and compliance teams approve into assignment rules, and documents them.

Does Moraph write course content?

Moraph loads, versions and maps content. Licensed courses come from HealthStream, and organization-specific content is owned and approved by your teams.

Is patient information involved?

Normally not; the service uses workforce data. If your use involves protected health information, a business associate agreement is put in place first.

How is it priced?

Platform and content licences are priced by HealthStream's terms, and Moraph's implementation and managed service are quoted separately. See Working with Moraph for what drives a quotation.

What happens if HealthStream has an outage?

HealthStream restores its platform under its own service commitments. Moraph tells you about the disruption, checks your feeds and assignments once service returns, and reports it in the monthly review.
